Insights into Diet and Health
J Graf
The sense of taste, in its higher, more refined state, is capable of discerning what the body most needs at any given time. However, when blunted or debased, it discerns not what is wholesome in a given moment, but what is tasty, or even what will feed a health-undermining craving.
A de-based sense of taste can be redeemed, returned to its higher purpose.
There are different times of the day when the body craves different elements. It varies with each individual, but there is also a general pattern.
In the morning, the body most craves whole grain; at noon raw vegetables; in the evening lightly cooked vegetables, with greens as a staple nutrient-bearer.
The more live a vegetable or fruit is, the more enhanced is its etheric energy, the life force of the plant world. However, predominantly raw food diets are met best by a healthy etheric force in the individual eating them. If ones etheric is depleted, by either a temporary, or long-term ailment, lightly cooked foods are easier to assimilate. For most people a balance of raw and cooked works best.
Experiments with live foods (raw, sprouted, and such) show that graying hair can be reversed. Also, there are numerous accounts of the reversal of debilitating illnesses.
Plants can be looked at as the inverse of the human form.
Root – head
Stem, leaves, – rhythmic system
Flowers, fruits – metabolic
If a person is suffering from an ailment that resides principally in the head region – headaches, etc – then the body will benefit from ingesting more root vegetables. If the lungs or heart are an issue, then more of leafy and stem parts of the plant. And if the issue entails the metabolic organs, or limb system, then the body can benefit from more fruits and flower vegetable portions – such as broccoli, cauliflower, etc.
The potato is not a root, but a tuber. Roots are far more optimal for nutrient needs.
The potato feeds a part of the brain that causes one to become more materialistic in ones thinking. Further, potatoes are debilitating in a general way, and also specifically debilitating for eyesight. One would make out better if one ate the skins of potatoes and threw away the white portions – but unfortunately, the other way around is the usual custom.
Mass meat products, including prison-raised chickens, pigs, beef, and other crowded and abused species, carry negative karma for those engaged in the trade, support, or consumption. Is it really worth it to buy such products on the basis of its cheaper?
Further, the cheaper turns out to be quite the opposite – when one considers overall costs to health and shortfall of nutrients per volume purchased.
In the end, both the karmic price and the health price is exponentially higher than the monetary price.

Chlorella – The Perfect Food
Nutrovitasub
CHLORELLA
Chlorella is one of the healthiest, most potent foods in existence. The name Chlorella is taken from the Greek word "Chloros" meaning green and the Latin diminutive suffix "ella" meaning small and was named by a Dutch biologist. A German biologist Otto Heinrich Warburg received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1931 for his study of Chlorella. Chlorella is nature’s richest whole food source of chlorophyll, a powerful cleanser and detoxifier for the body. Chlorella is one of the most scientifically researched foods and has many clinically attested health benefits. Although it has yet to gain popularity in the UK, it is claimed that in Japan Chlorella is taken regularly by 30% of the population. There Chlorella is regarded as a functional whole food, rather than a dietary supplement.
Chlorella has been touted as the perfect whole food. Aside from being a complete protein and containing all the B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, and the major minerals with zinc and iron in amounts large enough to be considered supplementary. Chlorella contains a range of carotenoids that is superior merely to taking a supplement of synthetic beta carotene. Chlorella is comprised of a fibrous, indigestible outer shell (20%) and its inner nutrients (80%). It is the fibrous material that has been proven to actually bind with heavy metals and pesticides like PCBs, that can accumulate in our bodies. 60% of Chlorella is protein, which is in the form of amino acids. Chlorella contains 18 of 22 known amino acids and is considered a complete protein, meaning that it has the essential 8 amino acids. The human body wants to form long complex chains of amino acids into the tens of thousands of different protein structures the body needs to perform functions all over the body. However, if one amino acid is missing, then an incomplete protein will form that will not function as effectively as a complete protein. There is no other natural source of protein available that provides such a complete and balanced array of amino acids than Chlorella.
Chlorella plays a particularly crucial role in systemic mercury elimination because the majority of mercury is rid through stool. Once the mercury burden is lowered from the intestines, mercury from other body tissues will more readily migrate into the intestines — where Chlorella will effectively remove it. A clean bloodstream, with an abundance of red blood cells to carry oxygen, is necessary to a strong natural defense system. Chlorella’s cleansing action on the bowel and other elimination channels, as well as its protection of the liver, helps keep the blood clean. Chlorella has been found to improve the immune system, improve digestion, detoxify the body, accelerate healing, protect against radiation, aid in the prevention of degenerative diseases, help in treatment of Candida Albicans, relieve arthritis pain and, because of its nutritional content, aid in the success of numerous weight loss programs. Chlorella has also been found to have powerful anti-cancer activity.
BENEFITS OF CHLORELLA
It is to Chlorella ’s high chlorophyll content that many researchers and enthusiastic users attribute its multiple health benefits. Both scientific documentation and reliable anecdotal reports indicate that Chlorella is effective in helping to reduce the symptoms of numerous types of cancers, diabetes, low blood sugar, arthritis, AIDS, pancreatitis, liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, peptic ulcers, viral and bacterial infections, anemia, and multiple sclerosis.
Chlorella is considered to be a first class detoxifying agent, capable of removing alcohol from the liver and heavy metals (such as cadmium and mercury), certain pesticides, herbicides, and Polychlorbiphenyls (PCBs) from the body’s tissues. Chlorella has been shown to have immune-enhancing effects, and to have antiviral activity against cytomegalovirus. Antihypertensive and antihyperlipedimic activities were observed with a protein fraction derived from Chlorella. Chlorella can also absorb toxins from the intestines, help relieve chronic constipation, favorably alter the bacterial flora content of the bowel and eliminate intestinal gas. Chlorella is also effective in healing skin wounds, both mild and severe.
The Chlorella algae is approximately 58 to 60 percent protein with a complete amino acid profile. It is a rich source of chlorophyll, vitamin A and minerals. Chlorella is especially high in beta carotene, iron and zinc. Chlorella is also an excellent source of vitamin B12 for vegetarians. In addition, research has shown that Chlorella can bind heavy metals and other toxins and flush them out of the body during digestion. Significant research has been done on chlorella or Chlorella growth factor. CFG is a liquid extract from the nucleus of the algae cell, containing proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates and nucleic acids. Many reports and clinical trials have shown that CGF and Chlorella have anti-tumor activity against a variety of cancers and tumors. Chlorella has been shown to have immune-enhancing effects, and to have antiviral activity against cytomegalovirus in mice and equine encephalitis virus in horses. Antihypertensive and antihyperlipedimic activities were observed with a protein fraction derived from Chlorella.
USES OF CHLORELLA
Chlorella helps people with poor digestion and assimilation as these micro-algae are easy to digest and absorb.
Chlorella helps to enhance poor vitality and anemia.
Chlorella can be eaten as naturally refined or processed foods.
Chlorella helps in protecting the kidneys and liver. Chlorella may be helpful for people who are overweight.
Chlorella may help in boosting immune system.
Chlorella reduces depleted ness & exhaust ness.

The Isometric Diet and Balanced Health
Protica Nutritional Research
The concept isometric has been a part of the health care vocabulary for decades. The most common application of the term, until now, has been with respect to physical exercise. Taken from the Greek root word Iso, meaning equal, the familiar term Isometric exercises involves applying equal weight to achieve strength goals.
Fairly recently, health researchers have discovered another innovative application of the isometric concept in the health care field: nutrition. These researchers have identified that an isometric approach to diet – a.k.a. the “Isometric Dietâ€? — can lead to health improvement.
The Isometric Diet®, which provides the philosophical basis for the Zone Diet, has swiftly gained respect from the health and nutrition community because it applies this clear “balance lens to the rather confused, often misinformed world of dieting. Created by Dan Duchaine in the mid 90s, and evolved by researchers such as Dr. Barry Sears (founder of the Zone Diet™), the Isometric Diet is an eating regimen that calls for a balanced ratio of protein, low-glycemic carbohydrates, and essential fatty acids.
The balanced ratio is the result of an overall awareness that the human body does not necessarily desire, or require, all kinds of micronutrients in all situations. While carbohydrates, proteins, and fats do provide the essential building blocks of human life, not all sources of each are optimal in all situations.
The Isometric Diet therefore takes a holistic approach to eating, and incorporates both macronutrient and micronutrient sources of energy. This goes beyond simply balancing proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Instead, an optimal balance is achieved on a deeper level one that leads to optimal body functioning, normalized blood-glucose levels, a controlled metabolism, and a healthy satiating of hunger.
This optimal balance, and particularly the point about healthily satiating hunger, is in stark contrast to some “fad diets, which seek to artificially suppress hunger. This potentially dangerous suppression often forces eaters to experience a weakened immune system, bone density loss, and other adverse consequences of malnutrition.
The Isometric Diet is founded upon five integrated principles: balance protein diversity unsaturated fats low glycemic carbohydrates and awareness of food priority.
Principle One: Balance. The Isometric Diet recognizes the fact that the human body functions optimally when it is fueled by a balanced micronutrient ratio of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.[i] The optimal ratio for these three is 1:1:1, or the same number of calories from proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
Principle Two: Protein Diversity. The human body responds differently to different sources of protein.[ii] For example, a post-exercise meal that consists of quick-assimilating whey protein will have a more beneficial health impact than an intake of caseinate or soy protein. The Isometric Diet therefore promotes a blend of protein intake to seek an amino acid balance, and to select the most appropriate assimilation rate for optimal health.
Principle Three: Unsaturated Fats and MCT’s. The Isometric Diet recognizes that the human body processes saturated fats differently from mono- and polyunsaturated fats.[iii] Furthermore, the diet exploits the fact that there are some fats, called Medium Chain Triglycerides or “MCTs, which are shorter chains of 8-10 fatty acids. These MCT chains are shorter, absorb quickly, and digest very easily. The end result is a more efficient digestive system and better results through less effort.[iv]
Principle Four: Low Glycemic Carbohydrates. Healthy eaters are swiftly adopting the Isometric Diet’s promotion of carbohydrates that do not cause the blood-sugar to rise. Dieters can therefore use the “glycemic index (GI) as an intelligent way to measure the body’s insulin response to a given food and to monitor the intake of “good carbohydrates.[v]
Principle Five: Awareness of Food Priority. The Isometric Diet is aware that there are naturally occurring micronutrients found in food that supplements, typically, cannot engineer. As such, the Isometric Diet does not propose an eating regimen that regularly replaces food with supplements. Rather, a controlled diet that is fortified by scientifically designed supplements is most effective.[vi] This is particularly important in a very fast paced world where eating a complete meal can be quite a challenge. In such cases, the Isometric Diet approves of the supportive value of supplements – provided that such supplements are created in light of the above four principles.
One such supplement that has been engineered within the framework of these principles, and that is receiving positive acclaim in the health care field, is called Isometric®, created by Pennsylvania-based Protica, Inc. So named to reflect its balanced composition and support of the Isometric Diet principles, Isometric is a third-generation supplement that provides a complete spectrum of macro- and micronutrients.
Of greater importance to most health-conscious eaters, however, is Isometric’s balanced micronutrient breakdown. Each all-natural 3-fluid-ounce serving – which can be responsibly used as a meal replacement — delivers 25 grams of low-glycemic carbohydrates, 25 grams of protein, and 10 grams of unsaturated, highly-bioavailable essential fatty acids. Of added value to dieters is Isometric’sâ„¢ modest 300-calories per serving.
The path to perfect eating balance is an evolving one. The more information that nutritional science uncovers, the more effective shall be the resulting eating regimen. However, regardless of what innovations lay ahead, one principle will remain constant: the human body craves equilibrium, and it achieves optimal health through a holistic balance of micronutrients and macronutrients. Enabling that balance today is the Isometric Diet, and more recently, Isometric from Protica, Inc.

What is Acai Berry?
by: George Key
The acai berry is noted for its many health benefits. It is believed to help fight the aging process, protect the body against disease, builds up the immune system, combat free radicals and aid in weight loss.
Lest you believe that this is all marketing hype, scientists who have studied it concur with the above claims. This potent berry has been found to have nearly 4 times the antioxidant that blueberries have. Blueberries have long held the distinction as one the most nutritious foods on the planet. The nutritional benefits of the acai berry are even more impressive then that of the blueberry.
This super fruit has been used for many years in the Brazil. However, it has just recently become introduced to citizens in the United States. The response has been remarkable with this super food getting face time on some of the most respected and elite news programs in the country. Popular talk shows such as the Oprah Show have also done segments on this delicious fruit. With all of this fan fare and attention, many people are flocking to purchase it in both juice and supplement form.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone is in large part responsible for all of the attention paid to the aci berry. He helped introduce it to America by mentioning it his book, “The Perricone Promise.” Perricone called it the “worlds best super food.” He made mention of the high level of antioxidants (which kills free radicals), the ability to improve the immune system, weight loss capabilities, anti-aging properties and disease fighting capabilities of the berry. These are some pretty tremendous discoveries. In seems that most people in the world are interested in becoming or staying thin, attractive, young looking and healthy. People in some areas are more able to pull this off. Many times this is due to the foods that a particular culture eats as well as their activity levels.
People in Brazil are known for their fabulous bodies and youthful looks. Some people believe that this is due in part to the types of foods that they eat, the acai berry being one of them. In the United States, we tend to have major problems as it concerns weight and disease. This is partly because our diets largely consist of processed foods and not those that are good for you such as fruits and vegetables. This wonder fruit is a fantastic way to improve ones diet. Those who consume it on a consistent basis are better able to lose weight, look better and become healthier.

Enzymes and Raw Food – Can You Cheat Time and Stay Young for Longer?
by: Claire Raikes, Health Coach
I’m going to
be a bit radical here, but know that I’m only encouraging you to question
and think and ideally do your own research, both theory and practice. I’m
pretty confident that you’ll thank me for it.
What if the so-called ‘Aging Process’ was
a choice?
Clearly, we can’t stop time from moving on. When we have
a birthday, we are another year older. That’s a fact that, for the moment
at least, we cannot change. But what if the weakening organs, bones and tissues
and all the ‘usual’ signs of old age were not actually a part of the aging process
we’ve come to accept as ‘normal’? Have you ever considered that these conditions
are simply symptoms of us mistreating our bodies over the course of our lives
to date? Wouldn’t our senior years be a whole lot more fun if we were
pain and disease free and could jump around with the energy and vitality of
a teenager?
What are you thinking?
That this is a crazy, impossible idea borne out of fantasy?
Or are you willing to open your mind and accept that actually, if you treat
your body right and nourish it properly, it may in fact be possible? And this
is where Enzymes come in…
In his book ‘Intuitive Eating’, Dr Humbart Santillo MD writes:
"A
human being is not maintained by food intake alone, but rather by what is
digested. Every food must be broken down by enzymes to simpler building blocks.
Enzymes may be divided into 2 groups, exogenous (found in raw food) and endogenous
(produced within our bodies). The more one gets of the exogenous enzymes,
the less will have to be borrowed from other metabolic processes and supplied
by the pancreas. The enzymes contained in raw food actually aid in the digestion
of that same food when it is chewed. One can live many years on a cooked food
diet, but eventually this will cause cellular enzyme exhaustion which lays
the foundation for a weak immune system and ultimately disease."
Put simply, we are born with a finite supply of endogenous enzymes.
It should be enough to last us a lifetime based on current life expectancy,
but if we don’t supply some exogenous enzymes through our diet, we will
use up our original supplies and that’s when we become susceptible to
the accepted ‘signs of old age’ including premature death! And the
fact is that when we cook our food, we kill all enzymes instead of allowing
them to boost our immune system, our brain function and our energy levels.
Another doctor, Edward Howell, has written a book called ‘Enzyme
Nutrition’. In it, he says:
"Humans eating an enzyme-less diet use up a tremendous
amount of their enzyme potential in lavish secretions of the pancreas and other
digestive organs. The result is a shortened lifespan (65 years or less as compared
with 100 or more), illness, and lower resistance to stress of all types, psychological
and environmental. By eating foods with their enzymes in tact and by supplementing
cooked foods with enzyme capsules we can stop abnormal and pathological aging
processes."
These scientists are not crack-pots working alone
The raw food movement is gathering pace and the practice is
becoming more mainstream now. In her book ‘You Are What You Eat’, Gillian McKeith
places raw or living foods at the top of her list of Good Foods and has a section
entitled The Case Against Cooking.
Now don’t get me wrong; I’m not suggesting that you switch overnight
to a 100% raw food diet. Though plenty do and never look back, it’s not always
wise. Instead I would give the same advice as Gillian in urging you to eat
something raw with every meal.
Just before I sat down to write this, I ate a yummy Quinoa
Avocado Salad which other than the cooked quinoa was loaded with raw,
enzyme-, EFA- and nutrient- rich foods. I ate it on its own, but you could serve
it alongside a piece of grilled chicken or fish instead of dead, heavy, sugar-rush
potatoes which do little more than bloat you up. Find the recipe on my Blog
at http://claireraikes.blogs.com/claires_blog/.
Here’s
to our eternal youth!

L-Carnitine – Amino Acid For Metabolism
Nutrovitasub
L-Carnitineis an amino acid found in high levels in muscle tissue & is synthesized in the body from Lysine and Methionine. L Carnitine plays an essential role in fat metabolism, by transporting long-chain fatty acids into the Mitochondria; which act like power houses and make energy available to the body of the cell. Long-chain Fatty acids are oxidized in mitochondria by a process called beta-oxidation & stored as ATP, a prime energy fuel. Beta-oxidation is especially important for our muscles, which largely depend on fatty acids for energy.
L Carnitine is a naturally occurring substance found in most cells of the body, particularly the brain and neural tissues, muscles, and heart. L Carnitine is synthesized primarily in the liver and also in the kidneys, and must be transported to other tissues. It is most concentrated in tissues that use fatty acids as their primary dietary fuel, such as skeletal and cardiac (heart) muscle. In this regard, L Carnitine plays an important role in energy production by chaperoning activated fatty acids (Acyl-CoA) into the Mitochondrial matrix for metabolism and chaperoning intermediate compounds out of the Mitochondrial matrix to prevent their accumulation. L Carnitine plays a fundamental role in energy production, and it is used to support all bodily functions that require high levels of energy.
USES OF L-CARNITINE
The amount of L Carnitine made by the human body is generally not sufficient to meet bodily requirements, so we need to obtain some L-Carnitine from our diet. Meat and dairy products like milk, cheese and yoghurt, are rich sources of L Carnitine. One of the key uses of L-Carnitine supplement is for fatty acid oxidation – helping users burn unwanted body fat & helps in lose weight. Other immense uses Of L-Carnitine are as follows
L Carnitine helps in slowing down the aging process
L-Carnitine transfers long-chain fatty acids, triglycerides into mitochondria (a cell’s energy powerhouse), where they may be oxidized to produce energy.
L Carnitine is also great in dieting as it reduces feelings of hunger and weakness.
L-Carnitine is a very popular supplement that promotes growth and development.
L Carnitine beneficially uses to avoid deficiency of protein or amino acids in the diet.
L-Carnitine improves fat oxidation by efficient energy release obtained from burning fat.
L-Carnitine supplementation appears promising as a treatment for intermittent claudicating.
L Carnitine supplementation improves athletic performance in healthy people
In addition to helping those with Carnitine deficiencies, L-Carnitine supplementation may benefit individuals in avoiding Heart Disease, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), High Cholesterol & Intermittent Claudicating.
EFFECTS OF L-CARNITINE
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur, they may need medical attention.
There are very few documented side effects of L Carnitine including increase in blood pressure, faster heartbeats & Fever.

Microwave Ovens and the Healthfulness of Microwaved Food
by: Debra Lynn Dadd
Microwave ovens do have benefits. They are certainly convenient. They are more energy-efficient than other cooking methods. But are they safe? And do they produce food that contributes to the health of our bodies?
While there is not enough evidence to require warning labels on microwave ovens, or to remove them from the market, there is concern both about the safety of our exposure to microwaves and the healthfulness of microwaved food.
THE DANGERS OF MICROWAVES
Even microwave ovens that are functioning perfectly emit microwaves. Safety standards set by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allow microwave emissions of up to one milliwatt per square centimeter (1mW/cm2) when the oven is purchased, and up to 5mW/cm2 after the oven has been in use. Studies on industrial exposure recommend that daily exposure should not exceed one milliwatt for more than one minute. Average home use of microwave ovens far exceed this.
Workers who are exposed to microwaves on the job experience headaches, fatigue, irritability, sleep disturbances and other symptoms.
HOW MICROWAVES AFFECT FOOD
Advocates of microwaved food claim that it is healthier because it retains vitamins, but the University of Minnesota disagrees:
“Microwaves … are not recommended for heating a baby’s bottle…Heating the bottle in a microwave can cause slight changes in the milk. In infant formulas, there may be a loss of some vitamins. In expressed breast milk, some protective properties may be destroyed…. Warming a bottle by holding it under tap water or by setting it in a bowl of warm water…is much safer”.
If heating formula in a microwave can cause it to lose vitamins and protective properties in breast milk to be destroyed, then it can do the same to the foods we eat. While the effects may not be immediately observable, a regular diet of microwaved food may have long-term health consequences.
Two Swiss researchers found that microwave cooking changes food nutrients significantly. Blood samples taken from eight individuals immediately after eating microwaved food revealed, among other things, an increase in the number of white blood cells–often a sign of poisoning.
Safety tips for using microwave ovens
I personally have never had a microwave oven in my own kitchen and am finding that it had been difficult to get people to give up their microwave ovens. Some of the generation who grew up with microwave ovens apparently don’t know any other way to heat food (really!).
If you choose to use a microwave oven, Consumer Reports magazine suggests you stay as far as possible from the oven while it is in operation.
In addition, operate and maintain the oven in ways that minimize leakage:
* make sure the oven door closes properly
* prevent damage to hinges, latches, sealing surfaces and the door itself, and make sure these are in good working order
* make sure no soil or food residues accumulate around the door seal
* avoid placing objects between the sealing surfaces.
For peace of mind, test your oven for leakage. Testers can be purchased online.
When cooking in a microwave, use heat-resistant glass, not plastic. The Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) of the USDA warns against using foam trays, plastic wraps, and cold-storage containers such as margarine tubs, whipped-topping bowls and cottage cheese cartons. According to the FSIS flyer “A Microwave Handbook,” these containers “are not heat stable at high temperatures. They can melt or warp from the food’s heat, possible causing chemicals to migrate into the food.”

The Use of Green Tea in Home Remedies
Colin Holcomb
There are a plethora of natural home remedies from brown sugar to eliminate heartburn to corn syrup to control nausea that can be used by those who want alternatives to over the counter medications. More than a tasty, hot beverage, green tea is an important part of home remedies from skin and teeth care to general preventative measures and everything in between. For specific examples to ways to use green tea to get excellent benefits read below.
Green Tea and Skin Care
Positive skin effects in the area of skin care have been found with green tea. Acne and eczema are two specific areas. Green tea is a great, cheap alternative to the expensive toners and astringents used for acne. Green tea is used to make a concoction with other ingredients that can be applied to clean skin with a cotton ball. Some notice a decrease in the presence of acne by simply drinking the tea, even though you should be careful with the increase of the caffeine to your diet since this is linked to an increase in acne breakouts. Olive oil can also be added to green tea to make a treatment for eczema.
Homemade Mouthwash
Green tea can also be used as part of a homemade mouthwash in addition to skin care. You will have to avoid adding sugar and honey. The presence of fluoride in this light drink helps keep your teeth healthy by preventing tooth decay and strengthening your teeth and gums. The most basic recipe is adding the brewed tea to spring water. Although it can be added to other ingredients if you want to create flavors for your homemade mouthwash.
Preventative Medicine
Your overall health and well-being is thought to be helped by a daily intake of green tea. Free radical in our body can cause damage to cells and the tea is full of antioxidants that bind free radicals to our bodies. Cancer prevention has been linked to green tea through several studies. Green tea is also thought to promote an increase in metabolism as an essential benefit that helps burn fat and lowers cholesterol in the body. Green tea may also play a part in reducing the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis because of the antioxidants present in the tea. The benefits of green tea are a great reason to drink it whether it is to drink it by and open fire or to get rid of unwanted acne breakouts.
Colin Holcomb is writer of Green Tea Information. He also writes on green tea diet and green tea home remedies.

Is Acai Berry a Super Food?
by: George Key
Dr. Perricone noted that the berry has so many outstanding benefits, that you would hard pressed to find a more impressive and nutritious food on the planet. Blueberries were once noted as one of the most nutritious foods in the world, but even it pales when compared to the acai berry which has nearly 4 times the antioxidants of the blueberry.
You might be wondering what makes this fruit a super food. Well, its ability to do so much good for the body gives it this distinction. It can help slow aging, aid in weight loss, fight disease, boost the immune system and it also tastes delicious.
The acai berry can help slow down aging because it is so adept at fighting free radicals. Well, to be perfectly clear, the fruit does not, but the antioxidants that it contains do.
